Online Play Tells
One important skill in poker is trying to determine what your opponent is holding is by looking for poker "tells". Poker tells are actions and signs registered on the player’s faces that give away the value of their hands. And at the same time study variants of poker which will help you to know poker in details.
Conversations at the table
Online poker rooms are equipped with a feature called chat boxes that allow players to talk to each other. Chat boxes can help you determine the strength of your opponent’s hands. Online opponents who have strong hands will often try to force you into calling. A sure tell-tale sign, try not to succumb to it.
Action Buttons
Many online poker rooms have action buttons that allow players to state their intentions on a hand before the action. The computer will implement this decision as soon as it is the respective player’s turn. This can be determined easily because there will be no pause between that players action and the previous players. Players tend to use the “call any” action button if they are on a draw and the “raise any” button if they have a solid hand. They will seldom use these buttons on a bluff.
Pregnant Pauses
Pay attention to the pauses that your opponents make to call or raise you. If a player purposefully delays and then raises you, they often have a very strong hand and are trying to entice you. If they are merely delaying and then call, it is likely that they have weak hands.
